On Sunday, April 28th gardeners and shutterbugs from across the Lower Mainland will flood into Vancouver for VanDusen Gardens can’t miss Plant Sale! This annual event is full of inexpensive plants, knowledgeable workers and of course lots, and lots of flowers to feast your eyes on. People come laden with carts and wheelbarrows ready to lug home this seasons garden treasures.
Being both a gardener and a shutterbug, I really appreciate the hold area that VanDusen employs during the sale. There I can safely hand off my new babies to a trustworthy Master Gardener whom has taken a pinkie swear not to scoop it. You should stop by this area. Once your plants are safely stored you’re footloose and fancy free to either continue to take in the sale and grab a bit of lunch, or go for a wander through the garden. It’s open for FREE on this day, every year.
It’s well worth a visit.
Once my hands are free, I use the opportunity to grab my camera and do a little people and plant watching. There’s a lot to see and do in the garden.
VanDusen’s Plant Sale runs Sunday, April 28th from 10am- 4pm. Come early for the best selection.
