The Vancouver Aquarium is undergoing a renovation. In fact, they are adding a whole new wing! Everything I hear about it sounds fantastic! Including an inside eating area! Woot woot!! But alas, with this expansion, there are bound to be growing pains. One of the items lost during the construction was the beautiful living wall that greeted Aquarium visitors as they exited the parking area.
This wall was a beautiful contrast to the striking building that lay behind it. So beloved, when it was taken down employees eagerly took home section pieces of this modular wall. It’s nice to know that despite it’s removal the plants will live on, in gardens across the Lower Mainland.
Good-bye old friend. I’ll miss your sight.

The vancouver Aquarium was one of my favourite haunts, when I lived there. I haven’t been there in years but I do remember the living wall. Sorry to hear of its demise.
I have not been down there is so many years.
There is always something that has to go when you grow. In my case it is usually all my clothes that no longer fit.
